Integrity

I am very proud of the reputation of integrity in my profession. A few years ago, at lunch, I told the story of how I lost a client. I called the client and asked him what his inventory was, and he responded by telling me, "What does it need to be?". I responded by telling him it needed to be what it was. The result was that he owed income tax and promptly fired me.

A man sitting at the next table overheard this conversation and said, "I bet you don't have very many clients". My unspoken response was, "That may or may not be true, but the ones I have are honest".
